Powerlines
Anywhere there is people, there is probably powerlines around. A crucial piece of infrastructure that is often seen as messy or simply ignored, but a closer look at these littered lines will reveal a complex system.
This collection aims to highlight the tangled intricacies that exist all around us. These pieces elevate urban infrastructure and invite an observer to see the environment through a lens that appreciates the subtle beauty of our urban fabrics.
This is a print of a painting in the 1st breadth of Powerlines: Canterbury
Canterbury.
This piece was inspired by a walk through the English city in the south of England, Canterbury. Pictured, typical English row housing can be seen with elements that distinguish this region from the others. Tiled roofs. Chimneys and old school satellites. Mix-matched windows. Gritty brick work. All these urban contexts are tied together by the powerline that stands central to the print, displaying a radial wire distribution that hints at the distinct regional context of Canterbury.
