Shape & Mortar

This collection is a rudimentary display of shapes as building blocks to a larger piece. The shapes are not unique on their own, but with a composition, texture and color applied to them, they become related to one another. The pieces in the collection are layered in color, carved, subtracted and applied in a manner that shows grit and glow to the shapes. Each piece is handcrafted in a way that feels like laying bricks or molding pottery.
