Weeks of Wine.
This piece went through two distinct phases that both intended to capture the consumption of alcohol as an act of blurring the reality of a situation.
The first phase featured a more detailed wine glass that showcased parts of the glass and wine itself in an abstract manner. Within the second phase, the only remaining element of phase 1 is the general body of the wine glass and the wine itself. The piece intentionally makes it hard to see the glass and wine in its literal sense but leaves just enough detail that emulates a wine glass and allows the viewer to make that connection on their own. The piece is then segmented into a 5x7 grid where color and definition are forced into a pattern. Some squares contain glass, wine, or both, while other just contain the background with the grid.
